Dirty store

This place is in Montgomery, Alabama by Eastdale Mall..... The problem here is that the corals there are sick with RED BUGS, ACROPORA EATING FLATWORMS, MONTIOPORA EATING NUDIBRANCH, HYDROYIDS, THOUSANDS OF STAR FISH EATING CORAL AND FLATWORMS IN ALMOST ALL THE REEF TANKS.

I know I'm not the only one with this problem and I'm sure that the store in Homewood has the same problems.

I usually call someone there and find out if the owner is there when I go buy fish out the bucket cause we dont want to see the owner because he is rude and condesending (and I suspect racist too) and constantly insists that there is nothing wrong with the fish or coral although you can look at them and tell!!:debi::debi:

I have lost 80% of my stony's because of them

Sounds like you are talking about Aquarium Fantasies, I have not been in a while so I cant speak to how you saw the store recently.

I will say that in my past dealings with them, the corals they had were all first rate, the fish all dated as to when they arrived so you can be assured they were well acclimated, and the tanks were well maintained. The employees are very expierienced and caring. They are a well stocked store with fair prices on most items.

As far as the owner goes - (insert bird sounds, and crickets chirping here)

I've been in the homewood store and, though not the nicest (but I've come to expect that in this industry), the fish are all in great health and all corals have been in fine condition. So not the best place but not the worst either. Prices are fair as well.

hey alabamafan your so right i hate going in their every thing in the store is sick and infected also the owner JIM is very asinine

I Dont go there much at all because of ...........well I just dont.

I moved a big tank over the weekend and needed something specific that I did not have time to order and wait for so I visited the store.

I officially retract my previous post. The store quality has taken not a nose dive but a leap off the deep end. It just proved to me that ongoing T.L.C. in a store is a thing to be cherished.

I've been in both their stores and both were clean, the tanks well maintained and I didn't see any pests. The owner and his mother and father were very warm and friendly. The store in Montgomery is first rate in my opinion and everything I have bought from them is thriving.

You wanna see a filthy disgusting store where the owners will lie to you about what kind of coral it is and what it's care requirements are and the tanks are full of aiptasia, bubble algae etc etc then check out Aquarium Imports in Hoover. I will never set foot in that place again.

I was in there today all the tanks looked great and everyone was nice as they could be. The owner was not there.

Things must have changed a lot since the original post in this thread. Ive been to both AF's in the past 4 months while I was getting a 125 ready. Both stores and their livestock seemed fine. The Homewood store is a little cramped but the Montgomery store is very nice. The employees at both stores were very nice and I swear the wife and I must have chatted with the little old lady in Montgomery for a couple of hours! Lol We loved her. :)
