Disappointed in your poor advertising...Still in market for Apex Gold

So I get this email from Marine Depot that says "15% off sitewide". It says black friday discounts good until Monday night at midnight.

I went on a found an Apex Gold and put it in my cart. I also put in a WAV starter kit. Total was $1169. I go to checkout and put in the code "blackfriday2015" just as the email indicates to get my 15% off.

The code doesn't work. I call the next day to ask what the deal was. They explained to me that they had a MAP policy with Neptune and their products are already discounted so I wouldn't get an additional discount.

There was nothing in the advertising email about this. So at this point on Tuesday the 1st they're on the phone telling me that now they can't even honor the 10% off.

So Marine Depot, you suck at advertising. Do better :blown:

oh and I'm still in the market for an Apex and WAV kit if anyone has suggestions on where to get a good deal.

Hi Farmerdan. We can always do better and appreciate your feedback. We also apologize for any confusion regarding our Black Friday discounts on Neptune Systems products.

Unfortunately we are restricted by MAP pricing agreements for some of the items we carry, like those from Neptune Systems. Neptune did give us permission to lower their prices 10% on Black Friday, which we did, with a bit higher discount on the DOS and MPR. We, as were all authorized dealers, only allowed to offer those discounts from Black Friday to Cyber Monday.

The larger 15% discount (via coupon code) on most of the other products we carry (literally thousands) did have some exclusions, which were noted on the bottom of our Black Friday sale page.

It states that the coupon cannot be used toward items with MAP pricing or items already on sale.

Generally speaking, we could make a one-time exception after a promotion ends and hook you up with the sale price you missed as a courtesy to earn your business. Except in this case, we are restricted by that MAP pricing agreement.

Believe me, if we could offer you that deal without getting our selling privileges suspended or taken away permanently, we would totally do it.

As for making sale terms and exceptions more clear in our advertising"”we can definitely do better and I will absolutely share your feedback with the rest of our marketing and design team so they know the frustration and confusion this has caused you.

I hope that you will give us another chance to earn your business again in the future and that I was able clearly articulate why we don't have the authority to be more flexible with the pricing on Neptune stuff.
