Disappointed

I saw this deal last night and added them to my cart also. This morning they were removed I knew it was too good to be true lol. It was an obvious error and the OP needs to get over it. MD made a mistake but they shouldn't have to honor it. 25% off is a great deal and very generous so I'd take advantage of their offer.

Nothing says "Holiday Cheer" like trying to rip off a reputable company for an obvious typographical error. There is no way in hell that anyone could seriously think a $250+ Tunze pump would sell for $15. It was their error, but it does not mean they have to honor it and lose a ton of money for a typo. I think their offer of 25% off is very generous. I think Marine Depot did the right thing, unlike the OP who wishes to capitalize on a mistake.

THIS^^^^.. you guys who are upset are basically upset that you couldn't get over on one of the best company's we have in the hobby on one of the best pumps in the hobby.. How did you think coming onto rc and voicing your ridiculous ultimatum was going to get you guys anywhere?

I'm sure being called a liar wasn't a great feeling but I have a strong feeling your conversation with the sales rep was a little one sided due to the reason you feel that you deserve the pumps at a ridiculous, obvious typo price. You my friend basically are trying to capitalize on a mistake and bashing the company publicly . If you were really in the market for the pumps you would buy them at the 25% off, yet you want a free $15 (per pump) added to your account for nothing. #SHADY

Doesn't anyone realize what MAP pricing is? Even in the response, he carefully mentions that tunze authorized a further discount, they can't simply decide to sell these at lower margins without tunze permission, or they could risk a lawsuit.

I just received the email also. It is disappointing but this is nothing new to MD they have done this before.

Really, you bring up a mistake from 7 years ago? As if it's some sort of pattern? Dang you guys are reaching.

I'm really frustrated with reading your guys comnplaints. Not one of you who ordered really though the price was correct. That is why there was so much discussion on the forum. Everyone was hoping that they would get a smokin deal based on an obvious mistake. If people thought that the deal was legit, they would not have been discussing it on the forum. They would have just sat back and waited on the UPS man to arrive. The fact that they quickly hopped on the forums to gather some sort of movement is pure proof that they were not deceived.

When the day comes that you are not forgiven for making an honest mistake, I sincerely hope you remember my post!

IMO, Marine depot handled this issue very well. Not one customer came out loosing as they all received more than they had before the mistake. That my friends is taking care of your customers.

One more thing, I was notified of the mistake early in the morning before Marine Depot opened that morning. Rather than hopping on the web and placing my order. I contacted them to make them aware of the misprint. I guess I'm mature enough to help rather than take the juvenile course of action and pile on.

Marine Depot will remain as my number one source of marine aquarium gear!!!

This is nothing to get frustrated over. You should do some yoga. That is quite the assumption that no one knew. Why will I assume the price was wrong? People post good deals online all the time. People even start threads asking for deal. Look at petcos dollar a gallon. A lot of the disscusion was about what was going on. Diffrent people were told diffrent things. Some people had their order cancelled with no explaination.

They did minus the fact that I was lied to and then called a liar. The outcome is fine but the route taken wasn't the greatest. They also made out. Since I had $15 credit I bought 2 hydor pumps from them.

I guess you are more mature then a 19 year old college student. But not by much. Bravo. That last comment doesn't apply if you are lying. If I was betting on if that story was true or not I would put my money on BS.

This and the fact they said that they were going to honor it after they learned abou their mistake. I understand that this could have been one employee having a bad day.

This is incorrect. Money might not matter to you but the price of an item plays a role in if I am going to buy it. I was in the market for a controlable pump for my apex and saw one on sale. Isn't that what a sale is suppose to do attract customers. When I go grocery shopping I also buy what is on sale #SuperShady.Like I understand their mistake I am sure they understand not everyone is going to spend $200 for a water pump. I ended up getting 2 hydor pumps from them. I would have bought the controller from them but they only had it in a bundle pack.
