Disappointment

Gotta Vent. My parents always taught me if you can't say something nice, don't ... But ... For as much as I am wishing Mr. Fuji luck with his new sushi take-out business, I was turned off by the way I smelled coming out of the fish shop the other day ... Like a greasy restaurant. He's using the same counter for food and fish. I had to hang my suit outside overnight to air it out. His tanks were showing the neglect, too. I'm bummed.

I understand your point but you also have to think about his business. If he were able to make a living in WV selling marine fish and inverts I am sure he would not have opened the Sushi shop inside the store. I guess what I am trying to say is it is hard to make a living with a small business and the guy is trying to do what he knows how to do. I really do not think it was the best idea to put the take out store inside his reef shop but I guess the reef shop is not paying the bills.

Yea phil I agree and didn't mean to sound like I was slammin the guy....I have been in there when he was REALLY slow and most of the time he only has at most three people that I have seen so I am sure it is tough on him....besides he is a damn good chef if you all never ate at his place by the mall.

Oh, yeck. I love talking reef with Mr. Fuji. He's informative and personable. But there won't be much chatting with him anymore -- he's now busy in the kitchen and not out front, and that smell. And he is an awesome cook !!!! but was this a good choice ??? Perhaps he'd serve TropicMarin through a drive thru window.

Give him a break, guys. He's doing what he has to do. Hopefully, he can branch out to another place with the sushi eventually.

Believe you me there are worse smelling things in petshops than food cooking LOL. Fuji is an old friend of mine so I feel I have a right to comment here. All I can say is he felt he had no choice in this venture, I think it will take time to clarify this matter and resolve it to a final say so, but that will come from Fuji himself. Until then enjoy the food and be thankful he did not close the doors completely.

One thing about emails and chats like this, one can only assume a person's "inflection". I, in no way, wanted to slam Mr. Fuji. He is absolutely great, and I wish him luck. And, yes, can imagine trying to be a small business owner in WV. I wouldn't do it. This, however, was purely my opinion about smells. I have this thing about smells. Tucking-tail .... Nuff said.

I agree joy not slamming him either as a matter of fact he should be commended for trying to make a go at it in this state....
