Disease or bite damge?

I have a Coral Beauty which acts normal. But my wife and I noticed a white spot on his front left fin. It's very hard to get a real close look at it. Other than that he appears perfect and lets a cleaner shrimp do his job. The fin does appear to have been nipped to a small degree and the whitish spot is up close to the body. Does anything I have told you ring an alarm? He is elusive and would take a miracle to single him out for netting.
