I have an Atlantic Blue Tang in QT. The fish has been in the QT for 2 wks with no meds. He is eating very well but his color is very lt blue. I noticed today one eye is cloudy an swollen and around the eye almost looks like a bruse darkened color. He will stay directly in front of a powerhead almost as if he trying to remove something. I just started a Copper med. Any thoughts on what else I should do?

Thanks,
Don

I think you are correct in starting with copper first. Copper will treat the things that can kill your fish overnight. Make sure you are using it correctly though. I would follow the copper treatment with praziquantil. Most rec prazipro.

If you think it is a bacterial infection, You will need to add an abx. I like nitrofurazone. It is well tolerated.

Thanks for the reply. Today he was not doing very well, hidden up in a plastic rock. I think the copper treatment is too hard on the fish. I decided to give him a fresh water bath. I noticed small white like semi-transparent deposits in the container. I was told if it was flukes this is common. The water in the QT was cloudy because I stopped using carbon. I decided to do a 50% water change and go back to the carbon filtration. Are tangs more sensetive to Copper treatments?

How fast were you ramping the copper? It is common to highly stress or even kill a fish if the dosage is ramped up too quickly. Which copper are you using? The key to successful copper treatment is to take 4 days to ramp up the dosage to the therapeutic level.

I didn't ramp it up; wasn't aware to do this. As of now I have changed to Prazipro because of the Flukes. If he is eating tonight I might give another fresh-water soak.
