My fairly new pair of tomatos seem to have losta few scales during their settling down process, I have a few questions
1. how long will the missing scales grow back (I know scales can be used to age fish under the microscope) do you think.
2. if the mucus coat repairs will that be enough to provide protection against B.I.
3.some individual scales on the femal appear to have a very thin opaque layer on them that makes them appear raised when the fish is viewed head (I dont have a pic ) the female very occasionally flicks the rockwork but only very occasionally.

has anyone had any experience of a parasite that effects the scales specifically?

thanks in advance,
btw the marks have got better during this week as the fish have settled further and have been fed extra garlic in their food, they do not have an elevated opercular rate and are showing no signs of brook
