he was in the overflow. i couldn't catch him so i pulled the standpipe so he could hit the sump. i had a net over the pipe but i didn't catch him on his ride. now i don't see him anywhere. grrrrrr.

nope. he's still in the overflow. sheesh. i will never get this guy out. i even went up and bought a tiny net to try and catch him but he's crafty. he's getting back behind the return pipe, and i don't want to mess with tearing it out.

If hes small enough to ride the standpipe, run the return pump then yank the standpipe. Do it over and over till you flush him. It might be a little violent for the guy, but you know:D

i keep trying that but there's a one inch "collar" in the bulkhead that the standpipe comes out of. this is driving me nuts.

How about fishing him out? No, really. Get a proper sized hook and file off the barb so it is easy to remove once the fish is caught. I have read about this being done for bigger aquarium fish. Be carefull that the hook isnt swallowed by keeping the line taut.

hahahaha. this guy is tiny. barely an inch long. i'd have to find a mini hook. even a bream hook would be huge i think. i'm just going to keep pulling the stand pipe.

grrrrr, i blame richard. he built this tank and made the overflow box way to cramped. heheh

You might try a tiny fly hook, but be sure your sister, in cleaning your apartment, does not throw it in the trash. Ask Nick about Ripken, his Jack Russell, eating the hook he had used in an attempt to catch a fish.

he's in the sump now!! whoohooo

Now take a net and heard it towards the return pump intake and it'll be right back in the display.

Some assembly may be required:eek1:
