Dive Site Coral ID

Hello!

I'm a student working on a 3D marine environment project for theblu.com http://theblu.com/home (an interactive ocean game). I'm researching coral species present on the Oahu corsair dive site, and would really love to be as accurate as possible when recreating them.

Any help/input on identifying any of the coral species pictured here would be much appreciated!

OT but could you post more photos they are amazing!

This is an interesting ID for sure. I can only make out two different corals in all the pics. The first is all over the plane. I see what resembles Stylophora http://sdmas.com/corals/345.php and the tan coral in the last pic looks like Porites, brighami is found in Hawaii http://sdmas.com/corals/637.php.

the only visible coral i can see is porites, last picture of the eel.

you need closer shots to differentiate corals.

the fish in the picture are Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish Forcipiger flavissimus and tangs.

did you actually dive this site?

I didn't dive the site myself; these are all just images I found online and am using for reference. Most of the photos I've found have not been very close to the coral, but I'll keep looking.

If you are looking for specific Hawaiian species check this out http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/HURL/animals/id/. Although i believe most or everything on this site might be much deeper than the picture from above.
