Diver's Den ordering

I have placed several recent orders from the Diver's Den section of your website. The fish have been nothing short of exquisite. Packaging, customer service, etc. all top notch. The single frustration I have is the inability to add additional items to an order prior to shipment. By the very nature of the Diver's Den you are continually adding specimens. As a result, I am continually wanting to add items to my order. It would be a big plus if you could tweak your process to allow the customer to add items the evening prior to a shipment. You added something today that I have been waiting some time for and I called and tried to add it to no avail. It is undoubtedly easier to have an earlier cut-off but it seems the incremental sales (not to mention increased customer satisfaction) may make this worth consideration.

We appreciate your suggestions in regards to our ordering processes. At this time, we are unfortunately unable to directly add items to an order after it has been authorized. We are continually working to improve our ordering system, and have submitted your suggestions for consideration. Thank you for taking the time to offer ideas for improvement.

Thanks for the reply. If by "authorized" you mean credit card authorization, can't you simply get a another authorization as if it were a 2nd order and then combine the orders for shipping?

I may be missing the point.:)

Thank you for your reply. As of this time, our ordering systems are set up to automatically submit the order to our holding facilities once the credit card has been authorized. Once the invoice is sent to the aquatic facilities for shipment, it is difficult to make further changes or additions to the order, as the systems do not automatically combine multiple orders from the same customer.

I would also like to express my interest in this idea. A couple times it has hppened that I would like to add to my order, and can not. Also, group buys by several locals would be easier. I have done it with other vendors quite successfully.
 
Happened to me as well. Very frustrating.

I would also like the shopping cart to be changed. Its so annoying to not be able to click on the items in my cart so that I can take a second look at their info page. When I shop online I like to put several items in my cart and then I narrow it down to the the ones I truely want most, but it is very tedious to do this when I have to keep relooking up the items, instead of just clicking on the icon in the cart, like in many other online checkout systems.

Once again, I have to agree with that.

I understand your concern and have a solution. When placing your order online or with one of our friendly agents please place a note or inform the agent that you would like that order held open until the morning it ships. With this note on the order it will not be authorized until the next morning giving you the opportunity to add to it numerous times that evening.

I’ve checked with our IT department and it is in the works to be able to click on your cart item to go back to that product page. They anticipate this going live on our DrsFosterSmith.com site within the next few months with Liveaquaria.com to follow shortly after. We appreciate all your suggestions and strive to implement changes that will make your ordering experience as efficient as possible.

Thanks for listening. Since you frequently update DD on Fridays, is it a fair assumption this will work over the weekend as well for a Monday or Tuesday shipment (as long as I note it)?

Now if I just could have gotten that wrasse onto my order that shipped today....:)

That is an excellent question. If you place an order for Diver’s Den items on Friday, you may document to keep your order open until Monday’s cut off time so you have a chance to add other Diver’s Den items. The cut off time for our Aquacultured Coral and Marine Life Facility is 9:30 am.
