Diving back in

That's the design I used for my stand. The only thing I added was some cross members to give me somewhere to screw the plywood for the top and the floor. I'm sure it didn't better the design, but it made me feel better.

It also gave me places to hang stuff from. I hung supports for the PVC drain lines from those cross members. I've got a clip on shop light hanging over my fuge from one of those cross members.

If you want some advice - think about what you're going to do with the area underneath the tank. Are you adding a sump? How are you going to manage the cords and electrical equipment down there?

I want to add a small closet of sorts to one side of my stand where I can isolate items like the wave maker control boxes, power supplies, and other electronic equipment that I'd rather not be dripping water on when I'm working down there. I can also add a door on that end so I have easy access to them without getting under tank.

The more you plan now when everything is still dry, the easier it will be down the road.

I didn't think about any of that before I set mine up. Now I have to work around the sump to do everything.

I plan on adding some cross members as well. I didn't install them yet because I'm still working on how I'm going to plum it all together.

I have the sump that came with tank and I have a 20 gallon long tank that I'd like to use as a frag tank. They both fit in the stand so that's a good start!
