With a year or less worth of experience I'm deciding to jump back into this hobby with a little help from a friend. I was given a 40 breeder tank. I'd ultimately like to turn it into a mixed reef. I have this fluval LED fixture that seems pretty bright. Has anyone run the 35 inch model over a 40 breeder before? What are you growing under it? How's the growth rate? Just trying to Guage if I've got enough light. I've been looking and can't seem to find a watt per gallon scale for LED lamps. Any first hand input is welcome! Thanks!

Im not sure about the LEDs that you have, but you can maybe buy a PAR meter and see if you got enough light for the corals you want. Hopefully someone here knows the lights that you have! welcome back

I would try and google some reviews on the exact light you have for some more info from users. The light I think you have looks to be aimed more at fresh water planted tanks.

These are just basic leds, not 3w leds. ran two on a 55 for a while, grew softies and polyps no problem along with LPS (euphylia? Bad at spelling)

anything further needs better leds.
