I moved up here in Tampa to go to college up here from the keys and I love to scuba dive but I do not know anyone here that does scuba dive.... I was wondering if anyone here that does scuba dive wouldnt mind if I came on a dive trip one of these days????

im going wednesday to bradenton beach for a shore dive on a barge probally in the morning your welcome to meet us down there. unless my plans change and we go to a spring like we did last week. but thats if my other buddy is driving. whats your experience ?

ive been diving for 2 years Im certified nitrox I have about 100 dives logged but the problem is all my gear is in KW atm so Im a lil stuck but i think my parents are guna come and visit me soon so I will have them bring me up my gear when they do come up..... thanks for the invite as well

Jiro, next time i go diving ill let you know, i do alot of springs and caverns but i have only done open water once. (stupid hurricane season). ive got about 50 logged dives.

no prob you can also check some of my other threads in here about diving. not having gear is no problem you can rent a full set for like 30-40 bucks if you need a fix. i really only have 1 open water dive and 4 spring dives so i am new but your welcome to tag along anytime.

Ok, sounds good, we usually do Ginnie. Word of advice..if you dont like cold water, buy more wetsuits lol, i use about...11mm of wetsuit. (im cold blooded)

11 MIL WHAAA man last time i went to ginnie last week i didnt even use a wet suit just me and my special speedo.(i think i scared some kids lol) was goin to rent one to cover it up with but had to have it back at 6 so no good for the night dive. but was a bit cool but refreshing. also found a pair of oakleys worth 160 bucks in the river.

lol nice. Well, i mean we dive with 80's and stay in the cavern for about...90 minutes i think was our last dive, but the first 3 or 4 dives is nice and toasty but once we start hitting 5+ dives we start to get cold lol. we go into the caves too...yes i know we are stupid but we stay on the primary lines and dont go in toooo far. (we also rent primarys)

hey gimplar mind if i stand out side your house with my thumb in the air next time you drive up to ginnie man its like almost 3 hours form here. and my lil car i dont think will make it. have your ever drift dove the river out side the springs its pretty cool but alot of beer bottles and cans kinda disturbing but interesting

ive always wanted to try divin a cavern and stuff so you all do mostly freshwater dives??? is that what Im geting

Oh no, i would LOVE to do open water, but i dont know anyone with a boat really and i dont have enough money to go on those charter boats. Mrferrit do you have a boat? if you want we can exchange dives lol, ill take you to ginnie and you can take me OW. My parents actually have a condo up in gainsville where we can stay (if we do a few days diving) which is like 20 minutes from ginnie springs.

TheJiro, i would rather do OW cause i can barely take the cold, but yeah, i mainly do FW until i can get a boat

nope gont have a boat hey my company has like 7 but i am not allowed to take any of em =( and mine sunk but if i ever get a hold of one illl let you know but our scedules (sp) prob dont coincide im off tue and wed,
sorry for the spelling i am soo hung over i can barly see and i am 45 min late for work . ehh what happened where am i. nap time.
id prefer open water but springs are accesable by land myself too

i just got back from the sugar barge dive in bradenton beach and well it fopped the vis was 2 feet and i had to hold my partners hand to know where she was the whole time the most interesting thing we found was a old line about 10 ft long hoo hoo exiting oo and lotsa sand and sand dollars o well better luck next time but all in all i went diving to day thats all i really care about.now its nap time

That really sucks, yeah, best tme to do OW is winter/spring cause then the water is nice and clear. Stupid hurricanes.

too cold in the winter and spring man..... but true vis is much better at that time of the year so it si a good trade off
