This is my diy 3 gallon tank, It is made from 4-8x10" pieces of glass. It took exactly 3 gallons to fill it with the sand in it. I have not build the light yet because I don't know what I want to put in it yet, so what do you thank I should put in there? I have a 46 gallon tank with corals and fish so I thought I would do something different with this tank. so what do you thank, Talk to Me!

Nice little tank! I'd throw a couple little 13W PC bulbs (you can even get them in 50/50) over it and keep all sorts of small corals. My LFS sometimes puts together an entire tank full of miniscule frags for $1-2 each, it's usually bits that have fallen off larger corals during shipment. I recently picked up some very nice single shrooms and small rocks with 2-5 zoas each for my 5.5g, they're perfectly sized for teeny tanks. I'd ask your LFS for little broken pieces of rock and corals, maybe even get some friends to donate pieces; just fill that bad boy with colour. A back wall covered in neon GSP would be fantastic! :D

Yes I have thought or those 50/50 bulbs. Because I do want some blue in it. I was going to use those 6500k bulbs from Home depot that people and I use on my refugium, But I would need some way to add blue to make it look better. Right now I just have a powerhead in it for water movement and was going to rely on live rock for filtration and do weekly water changes. Thanks for the reply

Well I built the light for the 3.5 gallon tank, It has a 23w 5500k bulb that I bought from home depot. Do you thank I should put two bulb in it or would that be to much watts for that size tank? I want to keep some easy corals in there. would one bulb be enough?
I went to a pet store and found one of those red sea nano filters on sale for 9.00. I could not resist, I thank it will be good to pull some of the stuff that floats around in the tank. what do you thankthank?:D

Nice Very nice....

So what u goin put in it.???
I will like to put corals in it but not for sure.

I like the idea of getting single mushrooms, zoo's and other polyps and placing them in there. I've thought about doing the same and just taking small sections of what I already have. It would be easy to notice how well they reproduce if you only start with one of a certain species.

Nice work on the construction of the tank and light. Did you make the frame and light out of wood? Oh yeah, if you wanted some blue in there why not use one of the 50/50 screw in CF's that Coralife makes?

yes the frame and light is made out of wood. I thought about using the 50/50 but thay cost a little more and thay are less wattage. do you know any other way to add blue? would moonlight LED's work? I have about 40 of those bulbs!

i personally think you would be better off with the 13w 50/50 than the home depot special. The color that bulb will give your corals is going to be horrible.

i think puting some xenia would be nice in something like that, but thats something i would do. and just an idea for you

yes that would look good, I just bought some last week for my main tank. How long would it take before thay start to spreed?
