DIY CA Reactor/Kalk Reactor

So I've seen quite a few plans on here for CA Reactors and kalk reactors. Have you found that it is just as expensive to build them your self or buy a used one? How much do you think that you save doing it yourself? Do you think it is necessary to run both a kalk reactor and CA Reactor? And how well do the DIY ones that you have made work? Are they very tempermental? If not post a link to your thread(if you have it) so I can see how you did this. Sorry for all of the questions. I am very new to reactors and am still doing my homework on them

some of the DIY ones are more comparable to bigger quality units. They aren't ricket science so DIy ones should be as good as store bought. I have been in this hobby for a few years snd there still aren't a lot of companies making ca reactors but way more than there used to be.
