Diy fish traps
Hello

Can anyone help with any plans for a fish trap, they are pretty pricey to buy.

Need to catch a bi colour blenny who has took a fancy to my sps.

Thanks

I've used this one to trap Damsels and other small fish. Works great..

That looks to be a no brainer trap to make! Can't believe i didn't see something so easy to make come to mind DOH!:headwally: I had to remove all my rocks to catch 2 real stinker chromis last yr.that chased my clown out to its death, wish id had seen this at that time...............was like trying to catch sparrows in the house LOL.:spin2:

I use a mason jar. The mason jar has an internal lip. Basically a mini neck that dips in about 1/2 inch. I sit the jar up right I drop food into the bottom (after the fish have gone without eating for a day or so) It can take a while for the fish to figure out how to get in, but when they do (you'll have to be close of course) if you can reach into the tank quickly, usually in their panic they slid up the side to escape but hit that lip and dive to the bottom. I've caught all kinds of fish this way. Of course you'd need a really big jar for big fish. My tank is a lagoon so it was easy for me to make a quick recovery.
