In the process of setting up my new tank I going to have a lot of diy projects. here is the first piece of equipment I made. I took the design from this kalk reactor.

here are some pics of the initial parts made
It is made from 6" pvc, 1/2" pvc parts and 1/4" acrylic. The pump is a mj600
Here is a pic of the inside bottom
Here is a pic of the top being glued on I used weld #16. The metal bolts are there to help me align the top and will be replaced with nylon bolts. The acrylic is taped 1/4 - 20 thread.
Here is the gasket I made with gasket material from aquatic eco systems.
The finished product
The whole thing cost less that $40 in materials used. I still have to put together the auto top off float switch, which might get done this weekend. The mj 600 will be controled by a digital timer to come on a few times a day. I am going to try and rig a mj 1200 to feed it. If that does not work I'm going to get a doseing pump. What do you think, feel free to ask any questions.
