I'm thinking of doing some DIY LEDs over my 40B and it will be mixed reef.


Where is the best place to go for LEDs as far as best value.

Create your own pattern that uses as much space as possible, but at the same time creates an even pattern across the heatsink. I could offer you that royal blue LED's create the perfect amount of par with ultra violet.

I like Rapid LED personally. I use the solderless ones, easy as pie to set up, just plug and play.

Check this guys. ReefLedLab. I've got few of their very first experimental LEDs more then two years ago to try on softies. While my SPS/LPS is still under Cree-sun (2.5 years), seems to me that guys made huge move to ideal LED for reefs and I'm thinking to switch.
Unfortunately, DIY only.

has anyone found a low cost DIY source for a curved (half circle?) aluminum reflector for an LED strip?

All the u-channels I found are square.
