Diy led

You won't want a lens when you are that close to the surface (I've also retro'd a biocube lol, but it was white LED and PC actinic).

The drivers I used (meanwells) have a 10V dimming input. 10v= on, 0v = off. I wired them to plug directly into the variable voltage output on my APEX. 3 drivers meant I could stack 3 dimming sequences. I wired them all in B/W strings since I didn't care much for color dithering.

Yeah I know I dont want the lens..so now I have extras..I now know they are best used to direct the light and are better for a larger aquarium(deeper).I really like the 2:1 ratio of blues better anyhow...I always like the whole 15k to 20k bluer look.I think now we are going to do leds for this guys 220gal F/O but if he upgrades to a 300 reef he will probably want to do that instead..I still want to supplement the lighting since I have heard that some coral doesnt do well under them..If we do so I will be asking you more questions ...

:-D I never had good results with half my SPS with LED. Some did perfectly fine though. That's the only trouble I had. LPS and softies loved it.

I'll probably have a post clearing out a bunch of unused gear in a month or so, but for now, this is Reign's thread :) (sorry for the slight hijack)
