DIY moonlight suggestions needed

I don't need anything fancy- this is a KISS project that I want to keep on the inexpensive side.

I'm thinking along the lines of rigging up a commonly found house nightlight into my lighthood. (An LED would be nice but maybe someday down the road.)
I can program a moon cycle into controlling the simple nightlight with my ACjr.
It should be an easy project :)

What about those flat led night lights .. the only thing that could be a problem is plugging it in. ?
Just tossing ideas out I'm sure you have already thought of..

I added a $34 strip of blue LEDS from Auto zone to my 6 bulb Tek fixture and I love how it looks. took me about 20 minutes to drill the holes and attach it with wire ties.

depending on the lights you get, a simple mounting option are curtain rods:

You'll need:
- a low voltage power adapter (like the old ones from an electrical device you don't use)
- aluminum strip from homedepot/lowes
- a few led stars (whatever color you want... blue/white/etc)

Wouldn't be too hard to put together and you wouldn't really even need thermal paste if you use a low power LED.

Harbor Freight sells 12-16 light led strips for about $10. I used 2 spliced into a power adaptor and It looks great. It was a little bright at first but I turned it alittle to block some of the light and now its just right.

Autozone (or any auto parts store ) has led kits in either a strip or individual led(x10 with 3m tape) that can be used with a old 12v power converter. the kit with the individual led's has 10 rebel type led's and is very bright for under 20 bucks. I used a kit with mine and used a 12 volt transformer from a old xmas decoration and it works better than I thought it would.
