DIY project gone bad, OUCH

I'm building a 2 tiered stand (makes me think of REM) to hold an auto top off and the other shelf to hold a fuge
while finishing the assembly phase I predrilled my thumb for the wood screw
I'm currently bleeding through the third bandage
thank God for beer
unfortunately I may have to work tonight so I have to stop drinking

yeah thats not good, and alcohal does thin your blood. should we send someone to check on you?? a hospital visit might be in order

Thats always fun im a mechanic and i did that before what sucked is i had to put it on revers and hit the drill again to get it out

Beer is definitaly a friend when things happen

mechanic here too, By now i hardly feel the cuts to my hands. Sometimes i just notice them by the blood dripping everywhere, i just wrap something on the cut and keep going. Drilling your finger sounds a little serious though, how deep is it?

It isn't nearly as swollen as I would have thought
I think I stopped drilling as I hit the bone
I think I drilled it center of left thumb nail slightly off to the right
since the thumb is more swollen on the right side
actually a small hole, but all the way though the nail

you really don't need your thumb to tie your shoe

I feel your pain. Last July I nearly cut my hand off on the fan inside my canapy. I found out the hard way that the blades were metal and can cut you. After surgery, reattaching tendens, my lesson learn. There are now covers on them. The fish got a treat that day as it was over the tank when I cut it. :eek2:

Thumb feels more numb than pain
unless I bump it

my fuge is sea worthy!
uniseal installed and no leaks

I'll move the stand today and start filling and connecting

fuge is doing well but
I'm installing another return for safety in case my intake pushed more water into my fuge than my gravity return can move
(don't want a flood)
and small kids could bump my ball valve and increase water flow
so
I'm having a grand old time with my pvc, elbows, primer and all
cutting away trying not to hurt my mending thumb
then I look around the fridge and actually said out loud
"don't even tell me I'm out of beer"

I laughed out loud

Speaking of DIY and drilling hands, my brother drilled one of these through his palm. Thay had to remove nerves from his ankle to put back into his hand. His pinky finger is still permanently curled. And yes, beer was involved
