While this is not my initial idea, to make a DIY razor blade scraper,
It is Todd's version.
First, I needed a handle/rod that would easliy hold a 1 sided razor blade.
I've seen everything from Plastic spatula's to PVC tubes.
While I don't consider myself a 'hoarder', I do save some things.
I saved my kids plastic gold club handles when they broke the plastic club head off.
So when I went to make my version of the DIY scraper-
I found it in a small pile with a few other 'handles' I've been saving.
This handle is a thick plastic/pvc rod, with a really nice cushy neoprene molded grip!
I used a hack saw (fitting for me, I know- a 'hack' saw?)
and sawed a slot near the end about a 42.5 degree angle- the angle's real important here.
(no it's not, J/K)
I used a screwdriver in the end of the tube to slightly 'bow' or open the slot and
Carefully slipped in the covered side of the blade.
The handle is about 26" long.
Got a 10 pack of the 1 sided razors at Menards.
This way- it's real tight and doesn't move at all when using it.
I tried it, and my 180 had it's first edge scrapings and stubborn spots on the glass scraped.
It works great, and more importantly it doesnt' move in the handle, and
even more importantly- I didn't cut myself!
Available in multiple colors to match your outfit, multiple lengths,
coming soon to a theatre near you!
