DIY Stand: How much height in sump area

I'm using a 30 gal sump.

how much heigh should I have?

I'm thinking 27.5", minus 17" height of sump = 10.5" space above the top of the sump to the top of the stand.

total height of stand 38", top of main tank will be about 55" (another 30 gal tank....)

skimmer is 23.5" tall and will sit inside the sump. that'll give me about 5" of room above the head of the skimmer

what do you think?

5" above the skimmer should be enough to get the collection cup off. I went with 30" of height inside my stand since I wanted my tank at a standing-view level, and my skimmer is 25" tall. Works for me.
