DIY Sump questions

I like your setup just a little confused on exactly how all the little tubes are connected to reactors and what they go to. I see the return pump goes up and you put extra PVC for the three spots that go down to the reactor but can you explain from there whats happening. Sorry a little noobish to this and would appreciate it. Are you only using 2 out of the 3 connections?

Ball valve with reducer bushing and the above push connect adapter for either 1/4" or 1/2" tubing. That connects to reactor then.

I'm in the same boat as you. Im just too impatient to order a sump. earlier today we picked up a 4x8 sheet of acrylic 14" and a tube of weldon16 for $190 so i'd say to grab the deal for $200 and then think about building your own.
