DIY sump

I am looking to build my own sump system to save me some money converting my 30 gal FOWLR to a reed system doesany one have any suggestions??

Pretty open question.

What's the largest sump that will fit in your stand?

The cheapest sump route is probably the plastic container route. Tried that - don't recommend it. Next is using a Glass aquarium and adding baffles. Check www.freecycle.org for your area. Seems like someone is always offering an old free tank.
