DIY Tank for under $45

I would like to make a tank for under $40. I was thinking about using 10w 8h. I would get 5 sheets and make a perfect cude or cut 1 in half and make it 5 wide. I already have a filter. The cost is just supplies not live stock.
This is what I have
1.5x1/16 inch thick acrylic sheets $15
2.Silicone $3
3.Light $10
4.Heater $10
5. A rim? I dont think that it could hold itself up so I would need something that could work as a rim around the bottom.
Please help me.. Correct me If i need wider acrylic? Thanks It would be around 3 gallons

Hmm...I dont know much about tank building...but I thought 1/4" was the bare minimum thickness to use...? (tagging along for interest )

If you're trying to go as cheap as possible, for the acrylic sheets and get a 10g glass. $8.99 at Petsmart.

Check out Travis Stephen's thread in the Beginner section. He put together a tank for very cheap.

Or you could just check the papers for a good used aquarium
