DIY Wavebox

I am about to make myself a DIY wavebox and thought i would get some opinions on the design. I am using a tunze 6200 with a 7091 controller but might get the new 7096 controller cause of the wave function.

I mainly was curious if anyone has tried a shape other then a box for a wavebox. I have drawn up plans for one that is triangular but am unsure if there will truly be an advantage with this shape.
The triangular box is the same volume as the tunze wavebox, which i thought was important cause they seem to have success with displacing that amount of water. I thought that the triangular shape would break the waves as they come back to the box and decrease stress on that side of the tank. Furthermore, I thought the triangular shape would decrease the eye sore that a wave box may cause on the side of your tank. It will be positioned with the point protruding from the side of the tank because a corner mount is not an option for me.

Any thoughts......???

i know i saw some videos a while back on diy wavebox even with the electronics . i thinkit was on you tube . about the triangle nothing ventured nothing gained.

I have not seen a wave box that is worth it. They either don't do enough, or they do too much and cause micro bubbles. You also have to be careful as I have read about tanks braking due to the constant wave motion on the seems.

yeah i have heard that about the seems also. its just the amount of motion you get from a wave box is so tempting and would be cheeper then buying a MP40 lol

i adjusted mine and got a nice swish swash effect goin.. at first it was too much, then it wasnt enough... after playing with the controller, .03 Second adjustment made a night and day difference

And no the fish arent struggling to swim or anything... its a nice flow throughout the whole tank..

Sorry for the mini-hijack :)
