Rafael, your aquascaping is as good as I have seen to date. I love it. Can you include an FTS? What size tank is that?

Also, what diameter is the tube and how much was it?.

I have never seen one of those before. That is only to collect skimmate? What is the ping pong ball and the carbon filtering for? Is it to slow the air exchange as it fills up?

I think im a totally oddball reefer. The smell of skimmate doesnt even phase me. In fact it draws me like a kid smelling glue, or finger nail polish. I hear of people gagging and shuddering, but I would stick my nose in skimmate any day of the week compared to taking coral out of the tank and waving a nice patch of acro colony under my nostrils! That my friend is rank

Nice work though Rafael. Looks like your ready to try your hand at a GFO or kalk reactor next :D

thanks for the kind words
that tang sure is a pig
the tank is a 180 g, I'll get a fts and post it tomorrow
the waste collector is 12" L x 6" D, don't know how many gallons that is, if somebody knows, let me know
I used the cheap acrylic, it was about $15 ( the good stuff was around $50) and for the lids and base, I got them from the scraps bin, it was a couple of dollars, I dont think I spend more that $40 all together
the ball is to stop it from over flowing, the water lifts the ball and shutts the air hole, well thats what I hope it'll do
yes Justin I was thinking of doing a kalk reactor next or a skimmer (why not)

skimmer remote collectors

skimmer remote collectors

Justin, Here is AquaC's example of a remote collector (the orange circle is the ping pong ball):

Here is a simple diagram of the use of the ping pong ball:
