dkh of 7, is this good or bad

I just bought a aqurium pharm test kit and I can't find my salifet so I don't know if this is good.

mine runs in the range of high 7's to low 8's i duno if its particularly bad.... ive heard mixed things but id try to get it around 8ish

You doing SPS? If you are, you will need to get that up to around 10. Softies wont like that much though.

7 is right on target with NSW and IMO is fine if held stable at that level. You'll also spend much less time cleaning pumps.

I used to run higher around 10-11 dkh. I now run around 7-8. It appears that low nutrient systems have less problems with tissue recession when Alk is kept closer to NSW levels. I have seen no difference in growth.

I have 2 pieces of sps but it is all sofites and lps.

I was thinking it was my low alk for the reason why I have never grown a new head of frogspawn in the 2.5 years I have had the critter. While at the same time, the heads are HUGE. my cal levels are always at 400ppm and my ph is always around 8.0-8.1

I even target feed the frogspawn with cyclopeeze and reefroids and still, nothing.
