Do BTA's do well under power compacts? Which Nano would be best for RBTA tank?

Someone told me that BTA's do well under power compacts. Is that true?

Trying to decide which nano to get.

Back when I had PCs (( 6*65 over my 75 )) my BTAs did great, though I thought they looked better under MH.

What size nano? Personally, I don't like keeping any hosting anemone in a nano, they all just get too big. I wouldn't attempt any anemone in a tank smaller then a 29, but that is just me.

eh i've kept bta's in nano's before and they move around a lot. if i wasn't dorming at the time with my tank near me most of the time, it would have killed a lot of coral...

iv got 2 in a ten gallon. it took them a while to find a spot to plant there foot but they do fine but move a little every week.

Alikat, as long as your anemones are within say 12 or 15 inches of PC lighting and the spectrum is appropriate (daylight 6700K or 10,000K) BTAs do great. If you don't like the white or yellow-white light, you can have a blue bulb too, but make sure you have the daylight. You will want to make sure your bulbs aren't old (change them by 7 or 8 months), the acrylic shield is removed (unless you have fish that will spash the bulbs), and the fixture is as close to the water's surface as possible. PC light is intense, but it doesn't penetrate all that well compared to T5 (with individual reflectors) or MH.

The largest you can afford and fit in the space you are putting it in. Some have success with pc lighting but it would be much bettter to upgrade to T5's, MH are the best. Just my opinion. I would recomend a mix of 10,000K and atinic if you go with pc or T5. Just a guideline because so many factors enter into it, aim for around 5 wts per gallon.
