Do clowns jump?

I'm wondering if clowns will attempt to jump out of the tank? There is no hope if one jumps out of mine.. directly hits the wood floor.

thanks

Yes! Yes! Yes! I lost my previous favorite fish. My Cinnamon Clown. He jumped out of the only unprotected 6 inch spot. Didn't take him long either. Maybe 3 months.

On that note my fresh water tank has Silver Dollars in it and 1 managed to jump out once where the filter slot is in the hood. And there is a filter in there! After being in there over 7 years. But my girlfriend went running and got me and I put him back in.

In other words. It can always happen.

Yes, one (B & w ocellaris male ) just jumped in my lap two days ago while being chased by the female. .I was lucky to be there to put him back right away. My tank is covered now. Boy was i lucky.

Had a male Occelaris go carpet surfing while on vacation.

The babysitter (for my tank) thought I always had only one clown, not a pair. After 2 weeks of being behind the tank, he looked like an orange piece of paper when I found him. :(

Get yourself some eggcrate/light diffuser panels.

b&w jumped... luckily, jumped over the back... I have an all-in-one... so it ended up in the same chamber as the heater. I covered the tank the same day!

I had an occelaris that survived bad tank conditions (due to my ignorance as a newbie), & a huricaine (power was out for a week & everything died around him except a couple of damsels).

A few months later, he later he jumped to his death out of a 2 in opening at the top backside of my covered tank.

I now have a newer covered tank & I do not allow my fish to watch "Finding Nemo".;)
