do corals calcify during the day or night?

I am aware that pH affects the ability of corals to calcify, with higher pH making it easier to calcify. Like most aquarists, my tank's pH is lower at night than during the day (like close to 7.8 at night, and 8-8.1 during the day). I am just wondering whether corals do most of their growing during the day or at night. If at night, it would be of greater value to try harder to up the pH at night...

Glad this is already asked bc I just had this thought cross my mind.

So according to the graph, I collect that corals calcify both day and night, noticeably most during the day with feeding, then during the day without feeding, followed by at night without feeding.
