Do Dispar Anthias shoal in captivity?

I have 4 young females that are always swimming together. Will they always do this? My Lyritails do not.

It's fun to watch them go through the shrimp cleaning station. Most of the time the shrimp just ignore them.

I had 12 in a 156g that were a shoal with 2 sub groups. I had 2 males, 1 with a harem of seben females and 1 with a harem of 3. Both groups formed one large group, but within the group each male had females that were loyal to him.

Sometimes, a video is better than a picture. Here's a small clip showing how my dispars "hang out" together.

They're not in a tight group. I think my cardinals pack together more closely together. But they certainly do tend to hang out in the same area of my tank. You can see the fat male keep the group together. It's not that obvious in this clip, but he does determine where the group hangs. He will nudge the females to a certain area from time to time. Notice how the evansi and purple queens hang out with the group too.

This group has been in my tank for about a year now.

Sorry for the sandbed mess. I was reaquascaping the tank.

Good to know! I think I'll add 4 more of the dispar anthias instead of the blotched anthias I was considering.
