Do Firefish clean other fish?

My coral beauty seems to think they do. The coral beauty has come over to the firefish's area, tilted slightly to one side right next to the firefish and extend all of his fins and waited patiently for a few seconds, just like fish do for cleaner shrimp or cleaner wrasses. The firefish just ignores this behavior. After a few seconds, the coral beauty gives up and swims away.

He just did it again and I had my camera handy:

The coral beauty doesn't do that to any other fish. It has ignored the two blood red fire shrimp I got today, too. You'd think he'd recognize those as cleaners and stop by them, if that is indeed what he's trying to do with the firefish.

Your CB must nicer than mine was as mine killed two firefish before I gave it away.

Maybe because he wanted cleaned and they wouldn't help out?:D

Lol. That would explain a lot of fish on fish aggression.

Lots of human aggression also maybe!!! :D

For some reason some fish like to think that other fish are cleaners. My powder blue likes to go up to my yellow tail damsel and do the same thing :)
