Do Fireworms harm zoas?

So I have a pink colony of zoas and they were doing great.

A few weeks ago I noticed a small area where the polyps had disappeared over night

About a week ago I wake up and notice this....

more damage in the same area

Now all the damage appears to be occurring in a single night when the lights are off.

I pull the colony out a few minutes ago and do a dip with coral rx

I see a bunch of very small bright red worms crawling around in the container........they look a lot like fire worms from what Ive been checking online

So can fireworms damage zoas?

Also all my other zoas are doing great just this one.......and its on the sandbed if that makes a difference

try and get a pic of these worms and post. that will be most helpful. Also wait until night and then get a flashlight to see if you can tell whats attacking the Zoa

look up Oenone Fulgida or Eunicid worms. might be your problem...

one of them eats coral, i think the O. Fulgida...

For the flash light suggestion, if you buy some red plastic wrap, like glad, you can put it over the light and it won't scare anything off. Good way to examine your tank at night.

Someone recently had issues with polyclads. I think Flyyyguy called it before the pest was seen. Possibly one of them?

They were likely just bristleworms, I don't think they do any damage to zoas, at least not that much damage. That looks like the work of a crab.
