Do Gobies and Pistol Shrimp divorce?

Have enjoyed the interaction between my Aurora Goby and pistol shrimp for the past 3 months. However, this morning I noticed the goby nowhere near his usual cave and had taken roost in another--in fact it seems to purposely avoid it. No sign of pistol shrimp but there is the telltale sign of freshly dug sand near the old cave.

Lovers spat or something else?
