made me take a second look at mine the first time. i was thinking woah doesn't this guy need his shell? then i found him on the other side of the tank. I only had one crab at the time so i caught on soon enough.
Exactly, shedding of skin, shell ect. Same as a snake shedding it's skin. This is how they grow, when the old exoskeleton get to tight they disgard it and go bigger (similar to upgrading tanks!).
