Do I need a frag plug?

I am getting in a shipment of sps frags and my plan is to cut them off the plugs, acclimate, dip in bayer, then krazy glue the frags directly to my rock.
Does anyone see a problem in my plan? I'm inexperienced in trying this method.

No plugs needed. Gluing direct to the rock is common.

I do this often as well. I have multiple frags also mounting on their frag plugs still. I just chop off the stem and glue it to the rock. I don't like the look as much but the acros were already heavily encrusted on the plug

Nope. But I like keeping them on the plug if they've already laid a base. I just cut the nipple off and use epoxy.
