I have salifert ph, nitrite, nitrate and amonia test kits as of now, new tank.. do I need calcium/phosphate/kh test kits also? Alot of my purple corline alague is turning white, someone in another thread mentioned it could be due to low calcium. I use instant ocean salt mix, 90g with 30g sump.

I would get those test kits, It doesn't hurt to have them and it will only benefit you in the end for when your tank is fully established...

Get the tests. IO is usually low in Ca, so I wouldn't be suprised if it was low Ca. I would also get a magnesium test kit and check that. Low mag could also be contributing to the dying coraline.

well I just ordered those test kits, should I put something in the tank in the meantime to boost calcium? if so what do you use to boost it?

Try a 2 part system most of every site on the internet has them, try like kent marine a+b I think their are other's but not sure of the name
