We'll my wife and I have decided to sell our live rock and fish. I'ts been a great run with the fish. I had someone offer to by my rock. If i sell the rock will it hurt my fish? or should i try to sell the fish first then the rock? I'm stuck on this one.

If you plan on selling the fish soon then it shouldn't be a problem to sell the rock first. Long term a tank with no LR is doomed though. I would throw in a couple pieces of PVC to give the fish someplace to hide for the time being. If they simply have nothing to hide in you could end up with some real aggression coming out.

It all depends on how long the fish will be in the tank without the rock and what other kind of filtration you have. There is a good chance that removing the rocks could cause a mini cycle as alot of the good bacteria will be taken away, especially if this is your only form of filtration.

Personally, I would sell the fish first just to be safe.

How many fish do you have? I agree with everyone that short term it shouldn't be a big problem as long as you don't have too many fish. You'll probably have to increase the water changes and/or add some sort of hang-on filter with some bio-media. If you have live sand, that will also help.
