Do I need to attach my Monti Cap. to a piece of rock?

This is my first Monti Cap. and I don't know if I should just wedge it on the rock somewhere or do I have to glue it to a piece of rock?

You'll need to attach it. I use reef-safe epoxy putty and/or gel superglue. If you don't attach it, some fish/snail/crab will come by and knock it off.

Can I take it out of the water briefly to glue it?

yep. i did with my orange one

yes take it out you will actually want to pat the glue spot dry a bit. it will help with adhesion.

you can also wedge it, but chances are something will move it before it has a chance to attach itself. possibly compimising it's health
