in my 125g i have a few sps corals left after a partial crash. i think a purple nana, wooly green and a hawkins. i have not been feeding lately and the wooly is not showing good pe and has some base recession. im thinking it may be lack of light so i moved it to a better location.

ive been running a fuge with cheato for some time and was feeding reef chile every other day. i noticed nitrate climbing above 10ppm so i stopped the feeding. after 2 weeks nitrate dropped to 3ppm and phos is at .02.

should i resume feeding lighty 1 time per week?

If your NO3 is really at 3 and your PO4 is really at .02 then I really doubt that this is your issue.

Are your SPS turning light pastel colors?
If yes, than maybe you do need to feed more.

My first guess at base recession and no PE is more likely something else.

What's your Alk level and how consistant is it?
What's your flow like?
What's the lighting?
Mg?
Salinity?
Temp?
Ca?
Got bugs?

:)

i dont see them turning white or pastel.

alk 8-9dkh . it stays faily consistant.
flow is 1200gph from mainpump split into 2 seaswirls, 2-mp40's and 1-mp10 at 40% in short pulse
lighting is aquaticlife 6bulb t'5s 10" awl. 2-bulbs on for 9 hours,midday on for 4 hours.

temp 77

dont see any bugs.

How long ago was your "crash"?
Are your corals maybe still a little stressed from that? Sometimes it takes a while for them to recover.

Were they doing OK before this crash?

Your water params look fine to me.
I think I would lengthen your photo period a bit and see if that improves things. They might just be in need of some more light.
How old are your bulbs?

:)

it was a while ago. i am still not 100% sure what happened. i was dosing redsea nopox , i went away for 4 days and didnt dose the nopox. when i came home almost all my sps's were 1/2 dead, tissue was peeling right off. i checked everything and couldnt figure it out.

i can add 1/2 hour to the photo period to start. bulbs are only a few months old.

If you only have 3 SPS, I wouldn't worry about feeding them. You will probably pollute the tank more than help the coral.
