Do I need to glue after fragging euphyllias?

I see some people keep euphyllia corals(frogspawn, hammer, torch, etc.) without a frag plug or rock attached to it, just buried in the sand. But I see some do. I'm just wondering if it's necessary to do so, would it cause like infection or something going into its skeleton like a worm. What do you think?

The Euphyllias do not need to be glued, however they commonly are for stability reasons, they tend to be top heavy when extended. If you have some good holes in your rock, in places suitable for placement, you can simply place them there. Epoxy putty can be used to make sure that they stay in place if needed.

If you don't want to glue them and plan on keeping them on a bare bottom tank or frag rack you can cut a piece of PVC that is a bit wider than the 'stem' and about 3/4" long. You then put the frag in the new holder and it should sit nicely. This trick stopped my hammer from constantly falling over all the time:)
