Do I need to medicate my QT?

I have just purchased the following for my 45 QT:

Australian Harlequin Tuskfish - 5.5 inches
Flame Angel - 3 inches
Flame Hawkfish - 1.5 inches

All have been in my QT since Friday night. All are feeding and displaying normal behaviour. The 2 sponges I used for my QT were seeded in my main tank while it was running fallow. But I removed the sponges from my sump on the beginning of the 9th week. I know that 8 weeks is the recommended length of time to run a tank fallow.

Do you think that my sponges have contaminated my Qt and I should use Cupramine for 4 weeks? Or since my display tank passed the 8-week mark, the sponges are not contaminated and I don't need to medicate unless I see illness after 4 weeks?

Your sponges are probably ich free - but that doesn't mean your new fish are.

I tend to QT all my fish with hyposalinity ... helps insure that the fish are ich free and many would argue that QTing with hypo helps reduce stress on the fish. Might be something to consider.
