Do I need to perform an intervention?

My 2 plate corals seem destined to meet up. I've already moved everything else out of their way but do they need to stay away from each other as well?

I'd keep them away from each other, the long tentacle can sting pretty good and the short tentacle plates recover slowly.

Yeah I would move them. I isolate mine so they arnt near anything.

Yep, move them otherwise you are asking for trouble.

I was afraid you'd say that. I've already moved him once but he's moving back in the same direction. I really hate handling him as I know they can be damaged easily ....

I came up with a better idea ... I hope. Instead of moving the plate, again, and just have him move right back I got some small pieces of rock and made a small wall between the 2 corals. That should keep him from getting anywhere near the other plate and the "bridge" is large enough that he won't be able to reach over it & touch the other coral even if he moves right up against it - I hope. We'll see when I come home this afternoon when he is fully extended how clever I really am.
