Do I Quarantine Clean Up Crew? Recommendations?

Hello all.

My tank Ammonia and Nitrite are 0 and I'll be doing a water change to get my nitrates down before adding a small clean up crew. Do I need to quarantine them? If so is the procedure the same as any other fish? Do you have any species recommendations?

Thanks!

Divers Den. As far as qt the safe answer is yes, but you're gonna here arguments for both sides. I am also just starting out. I decided fish will be qt'd for atleast a short time to watch.i won't treat with copper unless I see an issue. I won't qt frags and inverts. I just don't have the room to set up a 3rd tank.

Fish - quarantine. Inverts - don't bother (and never ever treat with copper).

Also for recommendations on stocking, what size tank is it? Fowlr? Reef? Anything you particularly have in mind or?

I plan on the tank being softie dominant. It is 45 gallons. This is my first reef tank and my biggest attempt at saltwater. My other attempt I had to move before getting too far.

You could look at clowns, firefish, gobies, damsels, a basslet, maybe a small flasher wrasse like a mccoskers if your tank has some length to it. Probably a few more fish i cant remember right now.

It would be worth taking a look at liveaquaria.com at there list of stock. That is usually a good reference point for some ideas.

Cardinals can quite interesting although i would try and find a sustainable source as they're population is reported to be dwindling at the moment in their native habitat.
