Do i see a trend on here with LED sales?

I had LED on both tanks, decided to go t5 on the 40 breeder, it came with good bulbs (not the standard 50/50 like usual), didn't like the color, switched the bulbs to ATI's (color pattern I've used before), still didn't like the color, and almost couldn't GIVE the fixture away!!! LOL, I'll use LED from now on.

I am planning my main lights to be MH, I still think that there are no better lights, but I do admit that Led's have definitely come a long way plus the information of successes and failures available today is much greater which should help you with the choices.

LEDs are probably far enough along that current generation products wouldn't need to be replaced as long as you purchase quality the first time.

Gen4 Radions are very pricey but with the claims of coverage, less hot spots, and better spectrum... you would only WANT to get something newer. I don't think performances will improve that much aside from better understanding corals "needs".

"WANTS" always = more money.

As I said before... it will always be a way to improve the product one more time...

This is one of the things I like from the North American economy, the mass consumerism that pushes technology development is un comparable.

I was worried for a minute there you would switch to all led.

Am I misinformed? Aren't those numbers kind of high? I though that mid to high 200's to 300 is what we look for in the middle of the tank height.

They are very high for a lot of corals. But numbers are perfect for growing SPS. The stronger the light (once acclimated) the better the color of most SPS. This is how some of these high end corals color up
