Do monti nudis ONLY eat montipora

Trying to get rid of some but my bet is they kill my few monti frags and stay hanging around in the tank. Would they actually choose to die rather than eat other sps?

Cool so fragin the tops of my montis and having them on a suspended frag rack for a few months should leave the nudis to rot on the LR below .

I don't think fragging and moving to another spot in the tank will be effective. I had a bout with some and fragged, moved and inspected. They always managed to find a way back. Best bet is to remove the monti and treat leaving in a qt until the nudis are dead. Treatment won't kill the eggs, so you have to repeat treatment until you have knocked them all out. They will die in your display tank without a monti to chew on.

yeah they can crawl on glass and get to your frags on a rack. they dont hide on LR though and tend to stay between the monti lr boundary or underside of the monti. I had great success with just dipping all montis weekly for a few months. unless you have huge colonies this is the best way to go

I could cut off healthy tips and suspend a frag rack so it is not touching glass or anything. I have no room in my apt for a qt :( if they can't swim over to the rack its pretty much my only chance I think

what is wrong with the dipping approach...you aren't going to get rid of them if they are in the display 'suspended' on a frag rack. I'm sure the larval stages can swim and that is how they probably propagate. Either you want to get rid of them and you will do what it takes by either quarantining or dipping or both or you are content to watch it run its course...maybe some survive but in most likelihood all montis in the cap variety will cease to exist...
