do not buy this tank if not told the truth about it.i went and seen the tank he told me he had it up and running for over a year with no leaks.original owner emailed me and had it publicly posted and said it need to be resealed as it started to leak over time.whats worse he was selling it for $110 and bought it for $75 so trying to make money off a tank that he knew leaked and said it didnt.i was so close to giving him money and picking up the tank i would have been so ****ed to set it up and have it start leaking in my basement.

Good thing someone was watching out for you Bill. It looks like he is new to the forum. There seems to be a few new guys on here lately that we have to keep an eye on.

I saw it for sale on here before as well, and wondered if it was the same tank. Small community, and often see the same equipment bouncing around.

It sure is a small community on here and its great that we do look after each other no one likes reading about some one having a rough time or getting hosed

Wow, that's terrible! Glad you found out before handing over the money. Reminds me of someone else local who purchased a leaky tank from me and tried to sell it for more than double what they paid me.

That's is why I'm grateful for the good people that I know in this hobby.. Not a place to lie and steal from people. Chump for sure!

It's cool to get a good repor here with the fellas. After a while we start knowing more people here and becoming friends.

If he would have been honest he could have sold it anyway. Someone would have had known that it needed to be re-sealed. Now forget it.

Good work and good looking out for others. Looks like they should change their name from nameissoftlover to nameisshister.

Thanks for the heads up guys. Just to set things straight. I picked up the tank. He was honest with me and told me the previous owner said it was leaking. He told me he filled it about 1/4 full when he was cleaning it and no leaks. Looks like some fresh silicone in the bottom. This is a beautiful tank. I will likely completely dissasemble this tank and rebuild it. This is a custom tank with real wood trim that someone likely paid upwards of $2000 for new. It will be worth every penny and all the hard work to redo this gorgeous tank. Also the impression I got from Chad was he is just a young dude about to have a baby, he has a small apartment and the few inches smaller the tank I traded him is will make a huge difference. He seemed like a nice kid to me. I don't know what he told anyone else or if the thread here is the only thing that prompted him to tell the truth but I know he is happy with the trade and so am I(for now, until I start working the tank:D)

+1 At least disclose if there are any issues and be honest. That way the buyer doesn't have to go through a tough time troubleshooting!! Not cool..

It's good to know people look out for eachother on here! :)

He did not have a choice but to be honest after being busted. He should have just gave the tank away or fixed it properly. Always have them fill the system before purchasing!
