do not order from champion lighting there customer service sucks!!!

they jerk you around for days and never get back to ya then when you call they beat around the bush them they say they will fix my order but i dont get credit for my shipping charges i had to pay. the guy is and a** hole thinks that screaming is gonna deture ya from staying on the phone. i bought a product that was not reef safe like they said and they dont care.... i did some research on the product and it came up in alot of forums and all i repeat all were negative!!!!


it took a week for the guy to take my call and then he was so unbelievable ignorant it was pathetic.. i will never order from them again.. in my shop i will bend over backwards to provide quality customer service to the client no matter how large or small the sale is. every clent deserves the same treatment

Thanks for your professional, adult response. It would have been nice for you to have included some facts in your rant. Since you missed them I thought I'd add them here. Let's start by pointing out that your order shipped out the following business and was delivered to you the next business day, which was Tuesday 11/27.

You called with your problem at the end of last week and spoke to a customer service rep who did as much as possible to help you before he recommended that you call the product's manufacturer. He also told you to return the unused portion for a full refund, I believe $10.95.

Amazingly enough, after talking to the manufacturer about a product that has been used in thousands of tanks worldwide, and disagreeing with their assessment of your tank's problems you were back on the phone with us. We again offered you a full refund but were met by your terroristic threat "if I ever see your store, I'm going to f$#@ it up", if I recall correctly.

Against my better judgement, I'll once again offer you the oppurtunity to send back any or all of the three items you ordered from us for a refund.
I don't usually bother to respond to this type of mindless rant but in your case I couldn't resist.
 
Hello from Chicago! I ran across this thread while searching.

Although James probably acted just like a nitwit on the phone like he is here and deserved your strong response this is the second time I have read a complaint against Champion regarding screaming over the phone at customers with problems. The first time was when A guy sent a pump back that was clogged up with calcium deposits. He apologized about not cleaning it but claims he was screamed at over the phone by you guys. I cant believe that these 2 cases are a coincidence. Although the public can make dumb mistakes and act even dumber on the phone and on here, you need to remain cool. Companies like yours are a dime a dozen.
 
i was prob a jack *** after the poor customer service!!!
to you it may be just a few corals to you. but to me i love and care for everything in my tank !!! so when something dies because of the product you stock i just think that ppl should react better to a problem with a product they carry!! i carried a product 3 years ago and i had good results for awhile then i started to get bad results so i quit carrying it and i took care of all the clients accordingly... so i own and operate a buisness that is based soley on skill and customer relations and from my experience i treat ppl better than you guys could dream of. im sorry if i over reached with the phone call... but did you ever stop to think maybe if you handled you customer service better ppl wouldnt get po i realize that you cant please everybody but you can try.. the reason it took a week to call was i didnt use it until a few days later from the date recieved. not everyone gets a shippment and puts it in immediatly!!! do you unpack evrything as soon as it arrives evry single shipment? i doubt it. its the holiday season so im busy and didnt have time for a few days to get to it.
 
I've dealt with Champion for years and have never had a problem. I can see from the original post how James may have treated them and it sounds to me like they were just defending themselves.
 
you was supposed to call me back after i called and i waited and you never called prob because you have my money and dont wanna deal with the issue . so dont get all emotional and act like you did all you could to help me!!! you cant even do what you said you would do and that is contact the company and call me back but i called you because you didnt call me and then i get another attitude biger than the first and why is that because i was persistant and called back. i would like to advise evrybody not to call if you have a prob because they dont care so if you have a prob just chalk it up to a bad experience because you will get no help from them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
